The Kiwi Timber Decking Team

Kiwi Timber Decking is one of the highly skilled work forces operational in South Africa. Currently the team consists of twelve dedicated, hard working and widely skilled professionals. Additional teams can be made available on request, if so required.

Kiwi Timber Decking was established & is managed by Chris Griffin; who has 23 years carpentry experience in professional carpentry.

Chris is originally from New Zealand but now permanently resides in South Africa. Schooled in New Zealand, Chris qualified as a carpenter and holds a New Zealand Trade Certificate and Advanced Trade Certificate. In New Zealand, a carpenter largely functions as a builder, as timber represents a large percentage of New Zealand building methods.

The apprenticeship that Chris completed covered all aspects of building - residential and industrial.

In 1991, the South African company Leisurewood employed Chris to build timber homes in South Africa. Several of these homes dotted the coastal regions as Chris continued to work on various projects in Cape Town and J'Bay for several years. After spending an additional five years subcontracting to various large timber companies, Kiwi Timber Decking was founded.

Chris and his skilled team have been involved with several large projects in South Africa, as well as in Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Some projects completed include work for Wilderness Safaris, in Botswana, Zimbabwe, as well as Kwa-Zulu Natal.
